Burke Mountain is one of the fastest-growing neighbourhoods in the Lower Mainland with over 15,000 current residents and an expected future population of 50,000 at full build-out. This vibrant community is known for its unrivaled access to nature, breathtaking views, and family-friendly appeal with access to schools, parks, and trails.

With the central economic hub of Burke Mountain Village still a few years away from development, the City of Coquitlam is introducing a new community amenity in the Burke Mountain Discovery Centre and Café, which is located on the southeast corner of David Avenue and Princeton Avenue. This location will serve as the Gateway to Burke Mountain Village – another exciting future development with over 120,000 square feet of commercial space, a public plaza, community centre, and 2,000-plus apartments and townhomes.

The Burke Mountain Discovery Centre comes with an equally exciting opportunity for a coffee purveyor to open the neighbourhood’s first ever café in a central location, directly beside one of Coquitlam’s newest and most popular parks; Riley park. The Café space in this highly anticipated building is available for lease through a public Request for Proposals process. Experienced café operators are encouraged to visit the following links to find the details of the RFP and fill out the Form of Lease.

RFP 21-043

This first-of-its-kind café on Burke Mountain has approximately 1,740 square feet of dedicated leasable space with 422 square feet of common space adjacent to the Burke Mountain Discovery Centre. This space will be owned and operated by the City of Coquitlam and will be used for the marketing of City-owned lands including the future Burke Mountain Village. The building is slated to open in Summer 2022, and will be a central community gathering spot for both long-time residents and those visiting Burke Mountain parks and trails.
