The vision forBurke Mountain Village

Imagine a master planned community designed to honour and protect the beauty that surrounds it, with the natural landscape informing the layout of the pedestrian-oriented neighbourhoods and inspiring the architecture of the homes. The City of Coquitlam, as the primary landowner and master land developer, has invested in making Burke Mountain one of the most desirable communities in Metro Vancouver that people want to call home.

Coquitlam’s newresidential, social & commercial hub

The Burke Mountain Village community is anticipated to include a range of residential dwellings and approximately 120,000 sq. Ft. of retail/commercial space, including a grocery store, a large public plaza and Village Greenway within its 39 acres. Final unit count and amount of retail will be determined by the developer/builder of the Village.

A new major recreation centre and park, Burke Mountain Community Centre and Burke Village Park will offer a range of amenities and services to get active, learn something new and connect with others. There are three active and one planned elementary schools within three kilometres of Burke Mountain Village. Burke Mountain Middle School and Burke Mountain Secondary School are scheduled to open in 2026.

It will draw inspiration from mountainside life, finding ways to leverage the benefits of the natural environment, and capitalizing on awe-inspiring views and places of interest. Burke Mountain Village is more than just shopping. The City envisions a place that will support community living by offering residents and visitors engaging places to socialize and gather, be entertained, live and work.  The future Village will be the place where you’ll grab a cup of coffee after the kids’ soccer practice, or perhaps enjoy a local craft beer or glass of wine at the end of the day. The retail and residential design combined with well-programmed community amenities, including recreation, culture and public art, will create engaging spaces for everyone.
